Women Executives make 33% less than their male counterparts “For years, I was the only CEO at CMGI. Weak and ineffective negotiation and conflict management skills are often the primary reason women are held back in their careers and in their lives.

In the last two decades, women have held only 2.5% of top paying executive positions.

Most men and women have never worked for a woman CEO.

Furthermore, and even more alarming, executive jobs held by women have actually declined in the last ten years: dropping 13.1 percentage points, from 31.9 percent to 18.8 percent between 1990 and 2000!

Most recently, a 2002 study by the General Accounting Office compared census data from 1995 and 2000 and found that women managers continued to lag in advancement.
